BOUND FOR GLORY with David Carradine as Woody Guthrie (in a performance for which he should have received an Oscar nom), the classic THE GARMENT JUNGLE with Lee J. Cobb chewing up the scenery, “No union, no union” and HOFFA with Jack Nicholson in a look at the other side of labour.

I ALWAYS….watch one of the very few movies I can think of, with a true Labor Day film..so it has been a tradition to watch the wonderful, excellent film…”PICNIC” starring William Holden, Kim Novak, Rosalind Russell, Arthur O’Connell, Cliff Robertson, Susan Strasberg, Nick Adams and Verna Felton. It is based on the play “Picnic’ by William Inge and will always be on my Top 100 movie list. If you haven’t seen this film, you are missing a truly great movie that gives you the Labor Day ‘feeling’ while giving you a wonderful drama-comedy story of love and small town situations. Gotta go now…and get the hot dogs, potato salad and watermelon ready..to watch this great film.
